  • 🌞 The lowest effort biohack that has the biggest rewards

Let’s dive in…👇

During the COVID pandemic, I moved back home to my parents' house.

I figured spending lockdown their would be much better than in my tiny flat.

They have a pretty sweet garden.

And the weather at this time was unbelievable.

Every morning, I would wake up, make a coffee, and stand barefoot in the garden soaking up the morning sun.

I did this instinctively, and it made me feel amazing.

Little did I know… I had intuitively tapped into an incredibly powerful biohack.

Or occasionally I would just sprawl on the floor with the dog 😂

As an Entrepreneur, I believe it’s worth pursuing any edge to enhance our performance, mood, and overall well-being.

So let me share with you why over 100 years of science proves that viewing morning sunlight does exactly that… 👇

🌞 It’s primes you to focus…

  • Viewing sunlight directly into your eyes within the first hours of waking increases early-day cortisol release.

  • This cortisol spike positively influences your immune system, metabolism, and focus during the day.

  • So the sunlight triggers a natural biochemical boost that keeps you sharp and productive… cool eh?!

🌞 It puts you in a good mood…

  • I intuitively stood in the sun because it felt good… now I know why…👇

  • It triggers serotonin production - the hormone that makes you feel happy.

  • It triggers a release of endorphins - our body’s natural mood elevators.

  • It suppresses melatonin - the thing that makes you feel tired and sleepy, so you feel awake, alert and alive.

🌞 It keeps you productive throughout the day…

  • Sunlight exposure from morning until midafternoon stimulates the release of dopamine, norepinephrine, and epinephrine.

  • These are the neurotransmitters that enhance motivation, attention, and overall focus… so we want as MUCH of them as possible.

  • I position my workspaces by windows so I get constant doses of light throughout the day.

🌞 It helps you sleep…

  • This one surprise me… but morning sunlight helps your internal body clock know when to wake up and go to sleep.

  • Spending time outdoors in the afternoon signals to your brain that evening is approaching, prompting you to begin winding down.

  • Even if you miss out on morning sunlight, afternoon sun exposure can serve as a secondary anchor for your circadian clock, ensuring the consistency of your sleep-wake cycle.

  • When I track my sleep, I notice a significant boost in the quality of my recovery on days where I spend more time outside in the sun.

🌞 It helps your skin…

  • Sunlight triggers the synthesis of vitamin D.

  • This is crucial for your for maintaining healthy bones, teeth, and a strong immune system.

  • It also plays a role in skin cell growth and repair.

  • Moderate sun exposure also gives your skin a healthy glow & can even out skin tone.

  • So you will look and feel healthier which will increase your self-esteem and confidence. This will shine through when you interact with people.

  • Plus, looking healthy is a positive subsconscious indicator that will encourage people to want to work with you.

Sunlight isn't just a feel-good anecdote; it's science-backed and literally primes your body in so many constructive ways.

Plus… it requires such little effort.

(As long as the sun is out 😂)

Here’s how I practically incorporate it into my schedule:

  • I walk my dog for 20 mins every morning

  • I made sure our office has loooooooads of windows

  • I’ll step outside in the sun for 2-3 five minute breaks throughout the day.

  • I’ll gaze out the window as the sun is setting in the evening.

Get outside, soak up the sun, and watch your business (and yourself) thrive.

I hope this was useful.

Take it easy,

Elliott ✌🏼
