🥩 I reveal my food blueprint
🏆 How to maximise performance & still enjoy life
😴 Two sneaky (but powerful) tools for managing weight
Let’s dive in…👇
Nearly everyday I post on my Instagram a picture of my dinner.
It normally looks something like this...
A juicy grass-fed steak 🥩 cheese 🧀, kimchi 🥬, avocado 🥑, beetroot & pickled onions 🧅.
(And yes, I really do eat like this 80% of the time… see for yourself here)
I can’t tell you how much joy meals like this bring to me…
…and that’s without factoring in the vigor & energy they imbue me with every day.
The Four Limitless Foundations
These four fundamental pillars are the bedrock of your health, energy, & productivity.
It’s critical to get these sorted first.
They are the 20% that will drive 80% of your vitality.
The Four Limitless Foundations
Today we’re talking about Foundation #2: Fuel 🍽️
As an Entrepreneur, you need to be sharp, energised, and focused.
One of the sneakiest things that can deprive you of all three… is food.
The food you eat every day will not only determine how you feel that day…
…but it will also have a say in how you look & feel long into the future.
The big mental shift here is when you begin to see food as your fuel source.
I used to use food to compensate for emotions & stress…
…until I realised it was the source to fix these problems, rather than a way of plastering over them.
I started seeing a tremendous shift in my mood, energy and physique when I started treating my body like machine.
That is to say I started giving it the right type of fuel it was designed to run on.
The Food Blueprint
My ground rules when creating this blueprint were as follows:
It has to be easy to follow
It has to take minimal time
It has to be tasty & enjoyable
It has to enable to me to put on muscle
It has to keep me lean & a healthy weight
It has to have room for my vices (croissants)
It has to provide me with energy throughout the day
After a LOT of a trial & error… this is how I achieved exactly that.
#1 Eat Natural Stuff
When you remove processed sh*t from your diet a ton of amazing things happen.
I switched to eating natural, unprocessed whole foods.
Here’s a summary of what I eat 80% if the time… 👇
#2 Small Breakfast & Lunch… BIG DINNER
This was a game changer.
I suffered massive productivity drop offs (during what should be the most productive hours of the day!) after having carb-heavy breakfasts & lunches…
Now I eat 5 fried eggs for breakfast 🍳…
…and typically a small lunch of meat, salad & fruit.
This avoids any heavy insulin spikes during the day.
These spikes are what make you feel tired & unproductive.
I then have a ‘Tactical Refuel’ for dinner - my main meal for the day.
A typical Tactical Refuel - more on these in future newsletters.
#3 Indulge at the weekends
The best ‘diet’ is the one you can stick with for the longest time.
80% of the time I follow the food blueprint.
20% of the time I eat & drink whatever I want.
It’s a balanced way to live that enables high-performance…
…without sacrificing the great pleasures food can bring.
#4 Fasting
Fasting is an incredibly powerful tool.
The penny dropped for me with it when I understood this…
Our bodies have a finite amount of energy.
When we have food in our bellies…
…it’s using a large portion of that energy to break it down.
When we do not…
…it’s using that energy to repair ourselves, clean out dead cells, and give us focus.
They are also great tools for fat loss.
There are two types of fasts I highly recommend that have helped me manage my weight.
16:8
Fast for 16 hours, then have an 8 hour eating window.
This is easy - just skip breakfast & lunch & dinner only.
The 24 Hour Reset
I typically do this on a Monday after indulging at the weekend to give myself a ‘reset’.
I’ll eat dinner on Sunday, and then fast until dinner time on Monday.
A total 24 hour fast, that is really not too difficult.
I’ll be back next week to explore the next foundation - Move.
Until next time.
You owe it to yourself to eat well,
Elliott ✌🏼
